Restaurant no-show fee

Card guarantees and no-show fees for restaurants

How do you cut empty tables caused by no-shows? With Table Rush the guest leaves a card as a guarantee when booking. The card is charged only for a no-show or a late cancellation, by a rule you set, and the money goes straight to your account. The feature is part of the Premium plan.

Start €149 · Pro €299 · Premium €399 per month · Custom on request · no per-cover fees · pricing (Croatian)

As of October 2026. Prices exclude VAT.

How a card guarantee works

The guest leaves a card when booking, but nothing is charged if they show up or cancel in time. A charge happens only for a no-show or a late cancellation, the way you set it in the restaurant's rule.

You set the rule

You set the rule by party size, dates (for example holidays or weekends), amount per person and the deadline until which cancelling is free. You can ask for a card only for larger parties or only on chosen days. The restaurant itself sets and communicates its rules to the guest at booking.

Where the money goes

Payments go through Stripe Connect straight to your own Stripe account; Table Rush never holds guests' money and takes no commission. Stripe charges its own card processing fee, 1.5% + €0.25 as shown on the price list. In Croatia the charges are fiscalised with your own FINA certificate, and every receipt has a JIR and a page for the guest.

No-show risk and reminders

Every booking gets a risk score from that guest's history at your restaurant, explained in words, with a High risk filter. Before a card, reminders with Confirm and Cancel buttons and automatic no-show marking help, and those are in all plans; the waitlist is on Pro.

How to try it

Card guarantees and the no-show risk score are part of the Premium plan (€399 a month, excluding VAT). The trial lasts 14 days and you try the feature by choosing Premium at sign-up; trials on Start and Pro do not include it. The card is entered up front and the first charge comes after 14 days.

FAQ

Short answers

When is the card charged?

Only when the guest does not show up or cancels too late, by the rule you set (party size, dates, amount per person, free-cancellation deadline).

Can I require it only for large parties or holidays?

Yes. You set the rule by party size and dates, so you can ask for a card only when you need it.

Where does the money go?

Through Stripe Connect straight to your own Stripe account. Table Rush never holds guests' money and takes no commission.

Is the charge fiscalised (Croatia)?

Yes, in Croatia: guest payments (no-show fees, tickets, gift cards) are fiscalised with your own FINA certificate, and every receipt has a JIR.

What does card processing cost?

Stripe charges its own card processing fee, 1.5% + €0.25 as shown on the price list, straight to you. Table Rush takes no commission.

Am I allowed to charge a no-show fee?

The rule has to be agreed with the guest at booking: the restaurant sets and communicates its own rules. Table Rush gives no legal advice; for legal questions ask a qualified person.
